Case Study #4: Order Management System Integration (LVTS)
The buy-side Equities trading desk of a tier-1 investment bank required that an off-the-shelf order management system, LongView Trading System, be integrated with existing technologies.
The trade order management system (trade-OMS) was successfully integrated with the existing home-grown Java-based portfolio management application; with a variety of ECNs providing electronic trading functionality; and with the trade settlement infrastructure.
The project was a significant success, equipping the trading desk with leading edge software affording electronic and algorithmic trading functionality, programme trading, and straight-through processing of trade orders (through seamless integration with existing infrastructure).
